I'm a girl who loves beauty products, even though I haven't always been very keen on them, so I decided to start a beauty blog, where I share beauty product reviews with others and tell you about both the worst and best beauty products out there, according to me.

I'm also hoping it will make beauty and makeup more fun, even for those who are not beauty addicts already.

Review: The Body Shop Chocomania Lip Butter

While travelling recently, my lips really dried up, due to a much colder and drier climate than what I am used to, and since I did not have my Bliss Fabulips Set available, I had to get some lip products quickly abroad. I opted for the Chocomania Lip Butter from The Body Shop, because I had been curious about the Chocomania line for quite some time, but never managed to find it in my local The Body Shop store.

Why was I so curious about the Chocomania line you ask? Because I really, really like chocolate of course, and I thought it would be very cool to see how well such a wonderful flavor translates in beauty products. I must say I didn't really like the flavor on this lip butter though, which kind of surprised me, but it was also kind of a good thing, since it meant I didn't really feel the need to get more products from this line.
The lip butter itself was nice though, it hydrated my lips nicely, but I can't say this is a spectacular lip butter in any way, more of a basic variety. But sometimes that's exactly what your lips need, so I was still fairly happy with the Chocomania Lip Butter. I am not sure I would get it again though, it doesn't really stand out in any way, so I would probably prefer to try something new instead next time I need a product like this.

But it was definitely nice to give this a try!

Review: Aussie Miracle Shine Conditioner

Another product I tried when travelling recently was the Aussie Miracle Shine Conditioner, because I had heard very good things about this brand, that I eventually ran into at the duty free store as well. So I decided to give this conditioner, as well as a more intensive conditioner (to be reviewed at a later time) a try.

And I must say I was pretty impressed! First of all, the conditioner smells absolutely lovely, and it feels quite lovely too. It also made my hair feel quite nice, even though I am not too sure about the shine part. My hair does not look that much shinier, but other than that, this conditioner worked really well on my hair!
I did need to use quite a bit of conditioner on my hair to make it work though, so while I had heard that you don't need to use a lot of Aussie product when you use them, I wouldn't necessarily say that's completely true about this brand. But other than that, I am very happy with my first Aussie experience, and I definitely look forward to trying some more of their products!

(the photos were taken after I used up most of the conditioner, thus the weird shape of the bottle, in case you are wondering)

Review: L'Occitane D'Angelique Cleanser

My previous post was a review of the L'Occitane D'Angelique (or Angelica) moisturizer, but I did mention that I have been trying some other products from the same range too. So I think it is time to tell you some more about another one: the cleanser from the same range. The L'Occitane D'Angelica cleanser is actually a gel cleanser, that turns into a light foam when you combine it with water. I am actually more of a cream cleanser kind of gal, but I thought using a foaming gel cleanser was a nice change.

I also liked that the L'Occitane Angelica cleanser had such a neutral, yet fresh and natural smell, I think a lot of people would appreciate that, and the packaging is really cute.
However, my skin did not feel completely clean after using this cleanser, but it still turned kind of tight and itchy, so I really did not like that the L'Occitane D'Angelique cleanser did to my skin. Another complaint I have about it is that you had to use quite a lot of the product each time you wash your face, which is not something I like, I prefer longer lasting products than this one.

So while I am generally a L'Occitane fan, I must say neither the L'Occitane Angelica cleanser or moisturizer were as good as I usually find L'Occitane's products to be, which was a slight disappointment for me. I did find the moisturizer to be much better than the cleanser though, so while I would consider getting the moisturizer again, I probably won't be buying the L'Occitane D'Angelique cleanser again. It was just too problematic for my skin, and if you think of how fast you'd run out of a bottle, quite expensive too.

Review: L Occitane Angelique Moisturizer

Another thing I got on my recent trip, besides the H&M foundation mentioned in the previous post, was some L'Occitane products,  from their D'Angelique range, which I haven't had a chance to try until now, despite being a huge L'Occitane fan.

The first product from the range that I am going to review is their moisturizer, or lotion, I guess you could call it. I use this with a cleanser from the same range, and I really love how it feels on! It's light, yet not too flimsy, and feels kind of luxurious, if that makes any sense.
I am not sure if it has mattified my skin in any way, like L'Occitane claims it does, but it sure hydrates really well, so I am still very happy with it, and would probably get it again. I do think this range works best as a range though, so while the L'Occitane Angelique Moisturizer is really good on it's own, I would recommend getting several products from this range if you decide to try it.
But basically, this is a really good moisturizer, but you should expect it to do any wonders when it comes to mattifying the skin. But there are other products out there that you could get for that....

Review: Pure Foundation by H&M

The last time I tried a H&M foundation was when I was travelling and had to buy a cheap foundation, just to use for a day or two, before I could get my luggage back again. Well, I was travelling again recently, and what do you know! I lost my luggage, with my regular make up in it again, and I decided to do the same thing again, to pop into H&M and get all the things I needed there, including a new foundation.
Out of all the foundations on sale at H&M, the best one seemed to be the Pure foundation, so I got that, and while I was pretty happy with the last H&M foundation I tried, I wasn't as pleased this time, for several reasons: First of all, the coverage wasn't all that great, and the foundation also kind of "disappeared" into my skin very quickly, so if I would be using this foundation on a regular basis, I would need to apply a lot of it every time, and also re-apply it several times during the day, which is not something I appreciate in a foundation. So while I am a huge H&M fan otherwise, both when it comes to clothes, shoes, accessories and so on, I must say my third time trying their make up was a disappointment. So I wouldn't be buying the H&M Pure Foundation again, I am afraid.

My current obsession

Finnish beauty brand Lumene's Angry Birds products. I actually bought a few of these recently, so I will be reviewing them shortly here on the blog. But now that I can't buy these anymore (Lumene is not sold where I live, so I can't get more now), I wish I would have bought more!
